Taking careers to the classrooms

DUNCAN — Recognizing the need for students to learn about the variety of careers offered, several area professionals visited school classrooms Thursday as part of Career Day.

Among those talking to students at Horace Mann and Emerson Elementary Schools in Duncan, were nurses, a pilot and firefighters.

Students got an up close view of the Jaws of Life in action, as Duncan firefighters Rob Loafman, Anthony Morgan and Tyler Boyles demonstrated how they use the life saving equipment.

Brett Locke, an LPN and phlebotomist with Duncan Women Center visited students at Emerson Elementary, and Ben Robinson, a retired brigadier general, shared his stories as a pilot with students at Horace Mann Elementary.
