March 22 Church Briefs

(Continued)

DUNCAN —

On Sunday, March 24, a special video clip will be shown in the adult service promoting VBS volunteer sign-up. The IBC VBS theme this year is “MarketPlace.” Students will be divided into “family groups” as they journey through the towns where Paul traveled.

All students and helpers will be in “Bible costumes” and their classes are inside tents. Craft time will move into the marketplace area and they will work in various Bible times shops from metal, carpenter, porter, mason and scribe shops. The dates for this event will be July 21-24 from 6-8 p.m. every evening. Workers will begin early to make sure this special time will be performed with excellence.

Special events will be held for the children on Easter Sunday including the Pre-School and Children’s Choir singing at the morning service.

This Sunday’s small groups classes are divided up into age groups they call the “20 Somethings”, “30 Somethings” and they go all the way up through the age spectrum. People are enjoying being with others in their own age categories as they study the Word and share life experiences they all face.

Pastor Jackie Allen will be back from his trip to Arizona and will be preaching on the last “Pillar of the Church” sermon series. Last week, Brian Holland ministered the Word and the praise team led by Mark Spradlin ministered in song. This week, Brian Holland will be back as the Music Minister for the service.

Wednesday evening will bring a dinner that will begin being served at 5:30 p.m. Afterwards, children and students go to their groups for choir, Bible classes and a youth praise and worship service. Adult Praise Choir begins at 7:30 p.m.

Chisholm Trail Church of Christ

Sunday morning, the young men of Chisholm Trail that are participating in LTC will conduct the morning worship. There will numerous scripture readings and songs of praise. Dayton Martindale will deliver his sermon that he has prepared for LTC. Following service, all adult classes will meet in the auditorium and  the middle and high school will have a combined class in the East Overflow.

Poll

Should the date for The World's Largest Garage Sale be changed from the third weekend in July to sometime in October to take advantage of cooler weather like we had this past weekend?

No. It's better in the summer cause kids are out of school.
Yes. More shoppers would come during nice fall weather.
Either time is fine.
