DUNCAN — Central High FFA attends National FFA Convention

A group of 11 students and five adults from Central High left the Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 30 on their journey to the National FFA Convention in Louisville, Ken.

Their first stop was at Lambert’s near Springfield Mo. for some amazing food. Wednesday, the group toured Merrimack Caverns outside of St. Louis, Mo. and the Anheiser Bush Brewery in St. Louis. Some of the famous Clydesdales were present at the brewery.

Thursday, the FFA Chapter attended the opening session of the National FFA Convention and listened to Rick Pitino, head coach of the University of Louisville basketball team, speak on setting goals and making a daily contract. The group also attended a hypnotist show.

The Central High FFA Members were chosen to be delegates for the Friday morning session. This is an honor to be down on the floor with the Oklahoma FFA state officer team. After spending all day at the convention, they had some fun visiting a haunted house.

The next day, the FFA Chapter toured Churchill Downs, home of the famous Kentucky Derby. Then it was off to Nashville, Tenn., where they visited the Grand Ole Opry.

The group had an amazing trip and made a lot of memories they brought home with them.
