Missouri committee recommends $8 for tin foil hats

A Missouri House education appropriation committee is recommending, among other things, $8 for tin foil hats, according to the Columbia Tribune.

According to a summary sheet, the tin foil hat money is part of an amendment removing language prohibiting the state from accepting federal money to implement Common Core education standards.

Chairman of the committee and proposer of the amendment Mike Lair, R-Chillicothe, said money would be used “for two rolls of high density aluminum to create headgear designed to deflect drone and/or black helicopter mind reading and control technology.”

The appropriation is partially a joke and is meant to draw attention to the fact that some lawmakers are unhappy with what they perceive as paranoia about Common Core.

Should the date for The World's Largest Garage Sale be changed from the third weekend in July to sometime in October to take advantage of cooler weather like we had this past weekend?

No. It's better in the summer cause kids are out of school.
Yes. More shoppers would come during nice fall weather.
Either time is fine.
