DUNCAN — Duncan Police have just placed a man in custody after a shooting in the Timber Ridge Drive neighborhood. A call to the Duncan Dispatch Center indicated the address to be in the 2900 block.

Police Chief Danny Ford confirmed at 10:35 p.m. that a shooting took place and a male victim is at Duncan Regional Hospital for treatment.

“From what the officers on scene say, it does not look like a serious wound. The bullet went through the upper thigh and maybe abdomen area.”

He said the analogy used was it looked like a dowel rod wound under the skin.

The individual allegedly shot his ex-wife’s boyfriend. Officers and investigators are still on the scene. Ford shared the last name of the suspect, who it appears is a local physician, but The Banner is withholding the identity pending clearer confirmation.

“We will know more details in the morning,” Ford said.

Ford has spent most of the day involved in interviews with Australian radio stations and news stations, he said. That is in relation to the murder of Australian national Christopher Lane who was shot Friday as he was jogging on Country Club Road near Twilight Beach. He died about an hour later. Three juveniles are in custody at Stephens County Jail.
