They have spent most of Saturday evening searching for him as temperatures continue to drop. As of 10:45 p.m., the temperature in Duncan was at 38 degrees. Peel is believed to be wearing blue jeans, blue and gray sweatshirt and possibly shoes. He is about 6-foot, 1 inch tall and around 190 pounds.
Police are considering requesting air search support from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, as of 10:45 p.m. and continue a full search for Peel.
Duncan Police have been searching most of Saturday for a missing elderly man, Jimmy Peel, 71, who lives in the Stagestand addition in north Duncan.
Detective Donny Foraker told The Banner about 7 p.m. that Peel’s wife had left the home early to do errands and that her husband normally goes to the Chisholm Mall to walk. That was around 8 a.m. She came home and thought he might be taking a nap, as his car was at home. Around noon, she went in to check on him and he was not in the bedroom.
After searching the home, she called DPD to report his absence. DPD has searched the entire home, neighborhood and other areas, including the mall.
Foraker said that the man, according to his wife, is in good shape, mentally and physically, other than some blood pressure problems at times. Mrs. Peel’s brother is also staying at the house, visiting and he did not realize either that his brother-in-law was missing, Foraker said. Foraker said that the family is extremely concerned for Mr. Peel’s safety. He noted that Mr. Peel’s personal belongings were also at the house and so far there are no leads as to where he may be.
If anyone has any information, they should call Duncan dispatch at 580-255-2112.
