Historic headlines changed how news was covered, when President John Fitzgerald Kennedy was assassinated Nov. 22, 1963 — 50 years ago today. Jan Cole, Duncan Public Library director, shared these treasures that her mother had saved from that fateful day. Among them — The Duncan Banner editions of Nov. 24, 1963, Nov. 25-26, 29, a Newsweek magazine edition of Dec. 2, 1963 of JFK’s life and death, and Dec. 9. The latter publication featured President Johnson.
