Choate 65 years

Rev. Bill Choate and Jean Rogers of Meridian celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on May 1 by attending the First Baptist Church. The couple regularly attends Wednesday services and because their anniversary landed on that day, they didn’t break tradition. 
Bill met Jean at a Root Beer stand where she worked after school. He tipped her a dollar and she decided he was a man of means. They have been inseperable ever since they met. Bill has pastored churches in Oklahoma and Texas for 54 ears. Jean taught school for Comanche Schools for 21 years. Retirement is needed. 
Their children are Nancy Allen of Waycross Ga.; Larry and Ellen Choate of the Philippines; Jimmie and Jessie Choate of Spotsylvania, Va.; and Suzie and Irvie Orton of Wagoner, Okla.; They have 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchilren. Bill spends his time hunting and running his auction in Comanche. Jean enjoys her flowers and sewing. They both enjoy their grandchildren and their great-grandchildren.
